Study Results Of the original 26 who started, eight have dropped out for various reasons, which is to be expected, but we have had another six commence at a bit later date, giving a total of 24 with another few planning to start on the diet in the next couple of weeks. All participants have reported an increase in energy, some were quite amazed at how well and energetic they feel. Some have experienced some detoxification resulting in flu like symptoms and mild headaches, which lasted only a few days. Also, all participants report that they do not feel hungry and are eating smaller servings of food. The majority have given up all processed food. The one’s who have given up all processed foods are experiencing the best results. We requested that participants give an honest answer as to rating how much they have followed the guidelines of the study. From 1 – 10 (10 = 100%) We asked participants to report on : Health issues and any changes to health status, medications they are taking and any changes to medications, energy levels, any cravings appearing or disappearing, If they have given up reliance on a substance, if they are feeling in/out of control, and what they are learning from the new dietary guidelines. We also asked participants to report on budgeting in order to gain an understanding as to what effect eating high quality fats, such as the coconut oil and good healthy, organic meat and vegetables. has on their spending pattern. Most report that even though they may spend a little more on organic or range fed meat and organic fruit and vegetables whenever they could find them they were not doing the big shop that they used to do and were surprised that they were still within their budget. This is great news and dispels the notion that it costs more to eat healthy. Also on this note we have sourced out and advised the best produce at the best prices. We have also been able to support “the man on the land” who are doing what they can to bring good quality produce direct to the consumer. We also found that most relished the coconut oil and after a couple of decades or more of avoiding fats of all description it was such a welcome turn around. To me it was like ‘coming home’. I say “most”, only because a couple found it difficult at first to take the oil straight but were able to take it mixed with coconut milk or some other liquid, and they have no trouble cooking with it. Following are reports from some of the participants. ALAN - Age 63 Before starting the diet: weight: 94kg Health issues: Recurring lower back pain Results after two months: Weight 89kg loss of 5 kg reduced 5cm. from waist reduced 8cm from chest Comments: I am now free of chronic back pain and able to lift with confidence. Before going on the diet I could only burn 350 calories per visit to the gym, now I am able to burn 950 calories per visit. My posture is better, I have lost my ‘S’ shape. I feel taller! Eating much smaller portions. Spending more per item on food, but eating much less, so good for the budget. I can walk 16klm in 2 1/2 hours. BERNARD Before starting the diet weight: 102kg Health issues Diabetic. Have had gall bladder removed due to pancreatitis Results after two months weight: 92kg loss of 10kg. reduced 7cm from waist reduced 2cm from chest Comments: I have totally stopped all pills and only use insulin rarely. I have not had my annual flu vaccination now that I understand the role coconut oil plays in preventing illness such as flu. I have great energy levels and am pleased to have shed 10kgs. After one month weight 52kg Comments: Definite Increase in energy levels, noticeable within 2 days of taking the coconut oil. I am now able to stay up late at night. After two months weight: 88kg loss of 5kg. I have only followed the diet about 60%, but I have lost 5kg. I have more energy. In fact I have great energy levels.I have given up smoking! saturating a cotton wool square and positioning this over my elbow.
I then put glad wrap over this to keep the coconut oil in.

to post a story about us if you like. Adele is 9 months old tomorrow and, yes,
she has been on solids for 3 months now, and took to it very well. Her
breastfeeds are now not as frequent as she takes 3 solid meals a day (she has
always shown a keen interest in food!), however I can definitely say that since
I have started taking the coconut oil she has seemed a happier, more settled
baby. She does not seem to cry or fuss as much as she did prior to the diet. In
terms of her breastfeeding, she still feeds well, and would probably have around
6 breastfeeds per day. I
now include the coconut oil in with her meals, as well as cod liver oil, and she
is a very happy thriving baby. I haven't tried the raw liver as yet, (yuk!)
however she also is given cooked liver once every couple of days. Adele
has always enjoyed good health (and, yes, I am touching wood right now), and has
not had a single illness as yet. Every other baby in my mothers group (a group
of 14 babies) have had some illness (many have had multiple illnesses) such as
colds, flus and viruses. Of these, only 2 other mums are breastfeeding - and one
of these just at night. She is a very healthy 10.5kg, whilst most of the other
babies her age in the group are closer to 8kg and struggling to put on weight.
I'm sure some of this is genetics, however I think the breastfeeding helps.... Observations
of the other Mums and babies in this group have definitely illustrated the
benefits of breastfeeding to me, and I also feel the coconut oil has helped
Adele's immune system, as she did not catch a nasty gastro virus that everyone
(mums and bubs) in my mothers group caught (myself included - but only for one
day thankfully! My husband and other people had it for 2-3 days!) As
for my health, I feel much more energetic since commencing with the coconut oil,
and not nearly as tired as I had been feeling all the time previously. Adele
still gets up several times during the night, however I feel more able to cope
with it now, and a great deal more energetic and positive than before the diet.
I am also able to fit in to pre-pregnancy size 10 clothes, which I had been
preparing to sell on eBay on the premise that I would never fit in to them
again. Now I will keep them for a bit longer! Thanks
